While on this wino weekend, I spent a certain amount of time hiding out and getting my trash reading in. I highly recommend the pirate story offered in the latest Vanity Fair. It raises important questions about the way modern pirate stories are told and the way countries like France (or the U.S., Canada, etc) go all out for commercial ventures that go out of their way to avoid taxes, labor regulations, and the like from their "home countries."
