The Current Cinema

York and I saw A History of Violence last night. Not a lot happens except 3 super violent scenes, one fairly violent fight, and two passionate sex scenes. One of the sex scenes is more passionate than the other. The couple do it on a steep old-fashioned farmhouse stair way. I commented, "What about their kids?" York responded, "What about their backs?"

Don't take any of these observations as harsh criticism. It was good.

Unfortunatelly, I think you are right about the quality of Enterprise episodes, especially compared to other Trek shows like DS9 and even Voyager who a lot of sci fi people and trekkies consider the worst. I think that its major weakness was a rehashing of previous plots and the fact it was a sequel also separated it from the major drama of developments within the Federation's continuity. There were some very good episodes in the last season of the show, but unfortunatelly, I think by the time nobody was wathing it. I hate UPN for doing such a poor job with the Trek franchise.

I just saw this. Those sex scenes frickin' ruled. They may even toppled Mulholland Drive and Secretary.

Story gets a B.
