Supreme Court News

In case anyone forgot, I don't have anything to say about new supreme court nominations. Like my dad used to say, I don't have a nickel in that dime.

Like a scorned woman regards an ex after about five years or so, I feel nothing. Except embarrassment sometimes. He did a press conference this morning, and I have to wonder if he even knows what a "strict constructionist" is. What a dumbass.

Oh sweet Harriet...

Thank you for broaching this subject. While I too am generally numb to the idiot and the doings of his cronies, the Harriet Mier nomination woke me up.

Since when (as per Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison)does being Texan and of the private sector represent "diversity" in this country? Or hiring the President's work-wife represent "innovation" and "forward thinking"?

However, after this morning I have renewed confidence in our president's capacity for memorization of multisyllabic words and articulation of sentimental mythologies.

Thank you Sheff's Special for indulging a moment on the Supreme Court--I personally think we should have allowed the general public to make nominations via a reality show.

I'm impressed that you can even force yourself to listen to his press conference. I can't. I figure all he does he lie and spin anyway so why bother?

When this administration is dead and buried, we are going to look back on the eight years like it was some sort of blacked-out bender. Honestly, are we all under some strange hypnosis?

I am afraid we won't be able to forget BUSH II after he's gone. He's caused so much damage, it's going to take decades to recover. The nation will have to go into collective therapy.

Did you guys catch what GWB said about wanting Congress to change the law so that he can use the military to police US cities? He said he'd need that power to enforce quarantines in case of a bird flu outbreak...sounds pretty ominous to me - and i don't mean just the bird flu

I like how you insist you have nothing to say about the issue and end the post with "What a dumbass."

re: bird flu.

My favorite w. quote yesterday actually had nothing to do w/ Harriet but birds. Something like: "first it goes bird to person, but it really gets bad when it's bird to person to person."

I think that's how they spread the Jesus conundrum - "let's use Jesus as a way to promote our own capitalist war mongering oppressive agenda" it's okay a little bird told me. All the fundamentalist bible belt xtians will be happy because they can keep enjoy their wealth guilt free!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah 'tis sad. Any takers for Switzerland? How about Norway - sure their all blond but they have socialis governments.

Hawaii seems like a whole different country - maybe I'll move there and pretend.
