Make Way For Ducklings

Since I've had no birdwatching opportunities lately, I have to live vicariously through my aunt. This photo was taken in Port Angeles, WA, and the bird is a Red Breasted Merganser.

It was nice talking to you on Saturday, though briefly. By the way, I like blue-footed boobies. I had these binders in the early 90s that you would put these pages and pages of different species of animals in, and you'd get new pages in the mail, and I remember that one...the blue-footed boobie. Haven't seen one in real life though. Have you?

That is a very nice bird. In other Saturday news, a note to supermosca: I thought about it and decided that "Crash" is just indefensible. Sorry.

Maybe I should watch it again - noooooooooooooooo - that would be too much. Maybe because I was a literature major I always look to the symbolism of somehting - but maybe you are a right -- that it was a shallow movie made to show that white racists are okay people because they'll save a black woman from a car crash and realize that their Housekeepers are good people. (One question: weren't the white people in the movie stereotyped too?)

I just thought someone sat down and said: what would it look like if we took every stereo type and stuck it in one movie and made them interact with each other. Clever or Stupid? Honestly - so much talk about a mediocre movie is just wrong don't you think.

Cinema Paradiso is a nice movie.

Spleen girl, I haven't seen a blue footed boobie, but I've seen lots of ruddy ducks with bright blue bills.

Mosca, uhm Greg has like a PhD in English. He knows about all that stuff, and he still didn't like Crash.

H17, I like birdies and take time to look at them. But I'd call it an irregular hobby.
