This Really Happened

Elias received the following message:

From: Darcy ...
Date: October 30, 2006 9:48:58 AM PST
To: Elias ...
Subject: Cylon point of contention

I don't remember who was arguing which side, but I found a transcript, and it's just the centurions who can't distinguish the different models:

"Centurions can't distinguish [Sharon] from the other humanoid models. Did you know that? . . . They were deliberately programmed that way. The Cylons didn't want them becoming self-aware, suddenly resisting orders. They didn't want their own robotic rebellion on their hands. You can appreciate the irony."

How To Vote

I hope to post several entries on the topic of the upcoming elections. I'm not holding my breath for anything, but I understand there's a big push to change the balance of power in the House and Senate.

Please don't ask me to explain Angelides. Just vote for him. Brother Ed says there is no national support, so Schwarzenegger will take it. Today in the mail, I received a thoughtful anti-governator mailing (the first one so far). The mailer asks voters to remember what the governator tried to do to meal breaks. Given all his fake do-gooding of late, I'm afraid voters will forget the many ways in which he tried to F--- us over. Nevertheless, I'll keep doing what I have to do... .

I vote with the following guiding principles in mind:

Tax and Spend is good.

We need to get SOFTer on crime.

I don't forget or forgive, so even if my union tells me to vote for her, I won't.

YouTube Link

Our friend Jimmy has been putting videos up on YouTube. One of the videos is particularly well made. It's also a little cynical, but at least you can hear Elias playing guitar.

Valete

Quia Kathryna me continenter flagitat, quia examinibus Latinis perfectis non iam propter negotium aut sollicitudinem excusare me possum, quia nimis Baccho hodie potato post somnum inquietum otiosus nunc vigilo, statui pro mea pulchra puella tandem aliquando blogere. Sed haec puella, cum semper aliquid viro doctissimo ac eruditissimo dignum a me exspectet, ne id quod scribo unius assis aestimet valde timeo. Tandem si intellexerit et se et nostram canem me constanter amare, satis mihi erit.

Again With Updates

At least we hit the gym tonight before eating take-out for dinner. Again. We've come to the conclusion that the only way we're going to lose weight is if we stop eating or start throwing up after every meal. Changing our diet is kind of out of the question.

Pac'a is still cute, and she had a great weekend. People came over for Battlestar Galactica on Friday night, and she got lots of love and belly rubbing. She got 2 walks on Friday -- one before and one after work. On Saturday, we went to Point Isabel, and on Sunday, we went to a dog park in SF. She's either pouting today for lack or fun or really exhausted.

Crumbelievable is our new favorite word.

I'm still trying to get Elias to guest blog. If he had time to contribute to some wikipedia entry on Plato, correcting its Greek translation, he should have time to pinch hit for me.

I am very much aware that I use "we" and "our" all the time now for describing shared experiences with Elias as well as feelings and sentiments about the world around us. I promise that I will only speak for Elias when I'm sure I have it right. He was there for the take-out, agrees we need to update our fitness/diet plan, took part in one of the Pac'a outings, and really loves the word crumbelievable. He doesn't think he should have to write for this site.

Tonight's the frakin' night!

Are We Cutting Edge Or Big Fat Geeks?

Raise you hand if you have ever used the word "frak" in a sentence or exclamation. Also, am I spelling it right?

Excuses

I have too much work to think or write, and it really sucks since I think and write for a living.

For your enjoyment, I refer you back to the good old days when Elias had enough free time to guest post for me. Congratulate him for a job well done last week -- he took 2 PhD qualifying exams.

I'll be away for work for the next 4 days. Maybe Elias will fill in with new post. Maybe not... .
