Transfering Services

They cut off my DSL just because I am moving and transfering services. I hate them.

I am transfering my duties to report on important things like the Seahawks victory to the New Agency.

Until I'm moved and settled, I can't imagine too many updates. I predict Ground Hog's day will be the next day I post.

Last Night's Golden Globes

The Golden Globes Awards Show was sick and evil, and I watched the whole thing. Me and the Annas.

I believe Anna F. shares my views and/or contributes to them in substantial ways. She made a really good analogy between the stars on the red carpet and cattle herds in corrals. Anna E. isn't quite the enthusiast that we are, but she's a good sport.

As for the awards show itself, I have one question and many observations.

Question: Why would the best t.v. shows like Battlestar Galactica, Deadwood, Carnivale, and The Wire rock get no nominations?

I loved George Clooney's speech and all the stuff he did last year. He pointed out the silliness in Jack (Abram) off's name.

I don't understand how the Hollywood Foreign Press nominated the househos for 4 out of the 5 choices for best actress in a t.v. comedy. That show is not funny or good. (Still I watch it.) That blonde lady from My Name is Earl is funnier than all the househos put together. Also, how come Alfre Woodard wasn't at the table? Segregation or what? (Oops, that's another question.) And on MLK day of all days! Now I really hate that show. (I will probably still watch it.)

The boobs were their own show. We couldn't help but contrast Drew Barrymore and Melanie Griffith. Which is worse -- no bra or totally fake, gravity defying breasts on a woman who is almost 50? Even on a 20 year old, those kinds of boobs are freaky. Also, what was up with Melanie's daughter? Drugs or stage fright? I was disturbed. But back to the boobs thing... . I don't get it. If I had all that money and fame, my boobs would always look perfect. Virginia Madsen made good with her goods.

Surgery is not the answer. The worst work on a body or face award goes to Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. She is younger than me, yet she looks 20 years older. So sad.

To be honest, the show was pretty boring.

Day Dreaming

I hope you've enjoyed your day off. If you didn't get today off, then shame on your employer.

Me, I've spent the day putting off work I brought home to do over the weekend. (Shame on me.) Also, I'm trying to tune out t.v. and television in order to avoid the usual non-analysis of what King was about and where we're at now.

Yesterday, Anna Ford (my old Oly buddy who has just moved to town) and I had a sleep over. We ate pate, triple cream stinky cheese, and drank wine. To balance it out, we watched Hotel Rwanda. If you think we've come a long way, you are so wrong. Sure, Anna and I got to be born to interacially suited parents (it was still illegal for my parents to marry in some states when they did). We get to eat fancy food. But there is still a bunch of inhumane and disgracefull stuff going on.

Re NFL

Dear John, Xui, and Ariel:

Can you believe the Seahawks? You must be so pleased and entertained by their success. I understand that today's win marks the second playoff victory ever. The last time was in the 70s (or the early 80s) when Jim Zorn was the quarterback. It might have been Dave Craig.

I wish you well in your playoff viewing. Also, I hope you take no offense should you favor the Colts or the Broncos or some other team. It's just that I once lived in Seattle, and I can only imagine how important this time is to that community.

In Friendship and Solidarity,
/s
Kathy

Our New Back Yard

You cannot believe what a big back yard we got with our new place. Lots of fetch and human games to come...

2006 So Far

There's already a bunch of stuff going on. I'm a little overwhelmed.

Texas won the Rose Bowl. I did not watch it, but I heard it was the best football game ever.

John Stewart will host the Oscars.

The Abramoff thing might bring a bunch of folks down.

Twelve miners died on the job in West Virginia, and unlike so many other on-the-job murders, this story has had lots of prominence in the news. Yup, without getting all the facts, I'm jumping to conclusions about profits over safety. I'm one of those negative and pessimistic people Bush complains about.

Ariel Sharon is fighting for his life.

I'm moving to Northern California at the end of the month. I have a place to live (with Pac'a and Elias) and a job.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year.

I'm days late in wishing folks a Very Special New Year. I've been kind of busy (more on that later).

Along with my greetings, I'd like to present the beginning of my 2006 IN and OUT list. It's more personal than anything, but everyone knows how influential I am.

IN:

Sensible shoes (like Birkenstocks and Danskos)
Dark chocolate and home made bake goods (it helps prevent cancer, you know)
Boy cut panties (according to Elias)
Bloggers (as pundits)
Alternative lifestyles (like moving in with your boyfriend before marriage or starting a commune)
Recycling

OUT:

Shoes and boots with spiky heels and narrow toes
Cupcakes (even though I love them, the cuteness is getting played out)
Thong underwear (according to Elias)
Pundits (from the ranks of the networks and traditional political culture)
Traditional values (whatever that means!)
Making too much garbage
